Welcome to Hamilton! Please see below for some information about getting around campus and the city.

McMaster’s Campus

McMaster’s campus is very walkable. Our events will take place in various locations on campus. You can access an interactive map here. The Philosophy Department is in University Hall. We will have a reception in Alumni Memorial Hall. The talk locations are still to be confirmed, but will likely be in either L. R. Wilson Hall or Burke Science Building. The Bertrand Russell Research Centre is also located on campus, just across the street from the central campus.

If you are getting a cab or an Uber/Lyft to McMaster, we suggest that you ask them to drop you off at the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC). It is a central location and easily accessible to all other buildings.

If you have any accessibility concerns please contact Allauren (forbeas@mcmaster.ca) so that we can ensure a convenient and comfortable visit to McMaster.

Hamilton

Hamilton is a pretty accessible city. There are lots of bike shares around – for example, this one – and the city of Hamilton provides a list of cycling routes and you can find one from the Ontario Trails Council here. Some parts of town – for example, Locke Street, James St. North, and King William St. – are densely populated with interesting restaurants, cafés, and shops to explore on foot.

You can also get around by car (Uber, Lyft, and short term car shares like Communauto). There is a bus system, too, if you prefer public transit.
